If you do not see your question below, please send us a message. Who knows, maybe your question will make it here to help others learn how to take their first radical step toward transforming the Anthropocene.
WHAT DO I DO WITH THE DIRTY ONES?
Place soiled wipes in a laundry bag or holding bucket until wash day. If the wipe was used for urine only, there is no need to soak prior to washing. Some products come with a bag or bucket, others you must buy them separately.
IS ORGANIC COTTON REALLY WORTH THE EXTRA COST?
Yes! Organic cotton is GMO free and grown without the use of pesticides and harmful chemicals. This is better not just for you but also for the planet and the farmers. In 2022, Taming Windigo will take a RADICAL stance and flip flop the cost of our products. Those who choose to purchase non organic cotton will pay a higher price for those items next year. We will donate a portion of those higher prices to environmental clean up campaigns.
HOW DO I WASH THEM?
Urine is actually quite clean so there is no need to do anything special on wash day. Just toss the dirty Fuzzy Wizettes or towels in with your regular laundry. Some people prefer to add a bit of vinegar to the wash but it is not really necessary. Cotton items have been pre-shrunk so feel free to line or machine dry as desired.
HOW MANY DO I NEED?
That kinda depends on how often you urinate, if you plan to carry them in your purse, how many people in your home will be using them and how often you plan to do laundry. Think about this then do a self assessment. Generally, a stack of 20-30 per bathroom is sufficient for one person per week.
WHAT IS YOUR RETURN POLICY?
Due to the nature of our products, we do not accept returns. Please ask questions if you need more information! Who knows, maybe your question will make it to the FAQ page to help someone in the future. If buying for a friend, consider a gift certificate instead.
HOW LONG WILL FUZZY WIZETTES LAST?
We estimate at least 5 years! Most people will save at least $200 by not purchasing so much toilet paper over that time frame. And depending on how early you start on this path and how many people you tell, your network could literally save entire eco systems from destruction.
DOESN'T TOILET PAPER COME FROM MANAGED PLANTATIONS, NOT OLD GROWTH FORESTS?
This is false. Some toilet paper does come from managed plantations, but most of the premium brands come from native trees, particularly old growth trees. This helps produce a softer paper. Tree plantations, which sound good in theory, actually a responsible for much environmental damage. A good account of this mismanagement and possible solutions, can be found in Suzanne Simards book Finding the Mother Tree.
WHY NOT USE BAMBOO?
Bamboo is a fine option if it is manufactured into reusable cloth. If it is disposable it is really not much better than paper. Bamboo actually has superb ability to sequester carbon and therefore should be allowed to grow, not be continuously harvested for a disposable product.
